HELP WHEN WE NEED IT

Our building company is growing and so too are our WH&S responsibilities. However, we are still too small for dedicated WH&S staff and our current staff can spend only so much time on keeping us WH&S compliant. So we turned to external help and found Cheryl from WH&S Matters.

We initially engaged Cheryl to create a set of four operational plans for us (including a WH&S plan), which she completed competently, and in excellent time despite several delays at our end.

We found Cheryl to be a willing listener, eager to understand our requests and focused on providing the solutions that suit our requirements.

We have subsequently engaged Cheryl on an ongoing consultative basis to guide us through the WH&S jungle into the future, and help us to keep our systems up-to-date and our sites safe and compliant.

Sue Black, Project Support Coordinator

Late last year I put pen to paper on my first “Commercial” contract as a Builder. All went well with my client except for the blank look on my face when they requested my Work Health and Safety system.

Over the years as a Bricklaying sub-contractor I’ve never really come across too much to do with the safety aspect of Building sites. Most clients seem to turn a blind eye to what you are doing, so long as the bricks are going into the wall.

Progressing into a General Builder over my 25 years in this sector and no real experience in dealing with Health and Safety you could imagine the sinking feeling that came over me when I was asked to present my Work Health and Safety system!

Well… That’s where Cheryl Shepherd comes in to the story. I think after our initial phone consult Cheryl could tell that I was totally out of my depth and needed assistance. Cheryl sat me down, bought me a coffee and simply explained what I would require.

Cheryl was incredibly observant to my needs, and after a few emails back and forth… I had my Work Health & Safety Pack.  It was a huge hit with my client and work progressed on site. The WHS pack is easy to follow, it points out to all of my Contractors what is expected of them and the forms are well set out and easy to fill out.

I’m definitely relieved and look forward to a “Safe” future in the industry. I can highly recommend the services of Cheryl Shepherd at Work Health & Safety Matters Pty. Ltd.

Steve Batters, Director – Tridon Group

Work Health & Safety Matters has provided us with valuable support as our business was expanding, which has enabled us to concentrate on what was needed elsewhere while knowing we were continuing to address our WHS legal obligations.

They were very flexible to our timelines and understood our specific internal requirements.

Work Health & Safety Matters have shown their professionalism by being prompt, efficient and having an understanding of what was really needed.

I would not hesitate in recommending using the expertise of WHS Matters if you are after someone who listens and then proactively works with you to get the best possible outcomes.
